KATAKLYSM: More Guest Appearances Announced
July 13, 2005KATAKLYSM vocalist Maurizio Iacono has issued the following update:
"I received a call today from our producer/guitarist J-F [Dagenais], informing me that the drums are almost all done and they sound monstrous!! Max once again has done a killer job and put a lot of feel into the songs. We're going less mechanical and more organic on this album, brutality most be felt the right way.
"Yes, the rumors are true... next weekend we will have Morgan Lander from KITTIE doing a guest appearance on the new album. For some people this must feel like a weird combination, but rest assured that I will turn Morgan from an angel to demon and she will be spitting fire under our wings!! Other Canadian musicians, such as INTO ETERNITY's Rob and Tim, are also scheduled to appear on the album as special guests, doing solos and guest appearances. More details to come...
"Don't forget — next weekend's Xtreme Distortion Festival in Laval (QC) Canada... Last show for KATAKLYSM in awhile!"
As previously reported, the drum tracks for KATAKLYSM's upcoming album, "In the Arms of Devastation", were recorded at Studio Victor, with the highly anticipated return of oginal drummer Max Duhamel. The rest of the album wil be recorded at guitarist J-F Dagenais's JFD studios over the remainder of the summer.
"In the Arms of Devastation"'s release will mark the band's 15th anniversary and will be celebrated with the band's first-ever DVD, "The Test of Time". The disc, which is scheduled for release later in 2006, will feature documentary-style footage spanning the band's career from 1991 to 2005, including the "making of" the new album, live footage, clips, interviews and tons of other goodies.
